About the Programs You'll Support
As part of our Indoor Programs team, you will help deliver engaging activities for:
Small Fry (Ages 4-5)
Indoor & outdoor games, crafts, stories, singing, tennis & swim, and occasional field trips.
Sandpipers 6 (Age 6)
Games, crafts, tennis & swim, age-appropriate learning activities, and field trips.
Sandpipers 7 (Age 7)
All of the above--plus introductory sailing lessons three mornings a week using club Optis.
What You'll Do
As the Indoor Programs Assistant Instructor, you will support the Program Director in providing a fun, safe, and structured environment for young campers. Responsibilities include:
Program Support
Assist with instructor orientation
Help manage daily schedules and transitions between activities
Track dietary restrictions and ensure proper snack/meal distribution
Facilitate group games, crafts, and enrichment activities
Supervise indoor and outdoor time, including free play and gym time
Camper Care
Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of all campers
Encourage independence, teamwork, and respect among children
Use positive guidance and conflict-resolution techniques
Support children's emotional, social, and developmental growth
Report concerns, incidents, or notable behavior to the Program Director
General Duties
Maintain a clean, organized program environment
Complete required reports or forms when needed
Support additional responsibilities as assigned
What Makes You a Great Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced: 1-2 years in childcare, teaching, or camp counseling
Certified (or willing to be): CPR/First Aid/AED
Positive, energetic, and passionate about youth development
Organized, reliable, and skilled at multi-tasking
Excellent at communication and teamwork
Comfortable participating in physically active play
Calm and confident when navigating behavioral challenges
Compensation
Competitive and commensurate with experience.
