Job Description

Oversee the indirect loan processing for the department. Collaborate with Indirect Lending Underwriting Manager (ILPM) and Vice President of Indirect Lending to execute the team's vision. Assist the ILUM in process procedure changes and special tasks. Hire, onboard, train and monitor performance of the Indirect Loan Underwriting (ILU) Teams. Conduct audits and routine periodic Quality Control reviews to ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures. Working with the ILPU, monitor current and future volume to always maintain adequate staffing levels. Support the Indirect Lending Management team to achieve department goals. Ensure member/dealer satisfaction through courteous, accurate, and efficient service.




Duties and Responsibilities:




Develop a team of underwriters that will provide Eagle service to our dealer partners. Build a team that is invested in their personal progress, develops themselves in their talents and abilities, and make themselves promotable within ICCU. Work with other management teams within the Indirect Lending vertical as well as the Consumer Lending vertical to ensure consistency and a high level of communication and team work. Perform one-on-one and SDP writing processes for ILU, as well as their personal and professional development. Oversee day-to-day operations of Indirect Lending Underwriting, HDLs, and coordination of underwriter schedules. Work with Dealer Market Sales Managers and through escalated issues as they come up including branch escalations. Assist ILP/ILU in dealer escalations. Ensure that the credit union standard of acceptable service levels are met. Maintain a culture within the department fostering positive dealer relationships. Oversee training of ILU and monitor the progress of the ILU as they develop as a team member. Routinely update department and IL Management Team on progress with efficiency gains, workload and performance towards organizational goals and structures. Oversee the daily workflow managing various functions to achieve optimal throughput for the ILU process. Suggest work tickets to the ILUM that will drive efficiency gains and/or will help stabilize the system(s). Help maintain high levels of communication among dealers and internal departments, including establishing relationships with other departments that interact with IL. Perform audits of loan files as on-going evaluation of Indirect Underwriters to ensure IL procedures are followed. Work with compliance/risk teams to ensure that audits are reviewed, corrected, and education will follow with the team to ensure adherence to polices and procedures. Routinely review and assist in writing loan processing procedures as needed.



Qualifications:





Bachelor's degree preferred or be actively pursuing a degree, minimum one year processing experience and loan underwriting a plus. Ability to train and work cohesively with lending personnel. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records at all times.

A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Must be detail oriented and maintain accuracy. Must stay informed on new loan guidelines and programs. Must be professional and courteous in manner. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.




Physical Requirements:




Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.). Sit for extended periods of time. Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. Reach keyboards. Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
