Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing processes, including knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and collections. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for medical services provided to patients.

Responsibilities

Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers. Review patient records for accuracy and completeness prior to billing. Utilize ICD-10 coding and other coding systems to ensure proper claim submission. Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information. Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the collections process for outstanding balances. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance requirements. Assist in the management of medical records and documentation to support billing activities. Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and improve overall efficiency.

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on medical billing and coding. Familiarity with ICD-10 coding, DRG, and other relevant coding systems. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare reimbursement processes. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare providers.

Pay: $18.70 - $25.00 per hour
