Randstad is partnering with a legal services non-profit organization based in Memphis, TN in search of an Immigration Staff Attorney! (HYBRID) If you are a barred attorney who has a passion for face-to-face public interest work, immigration, and children and family, this opportunity is for you! Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Staff Attorney in its Memphis office will work with detained and released unaccompanied children (UC). The attorney will represent selected clients housed by ORR in a transitional foster care (TFC) program in Nashville, as well as children and adolescents released by ORR into the Mid-South (Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Mississippi). (The Immigration Court is located in Memphis). The attorney will work closely with legal and social services staff in MIA\xe2\x80\x99s Memphis and Nashville offices, and will be supervised by the \xe2\x80\x9cMemphis-based\xe2\x80\x9d Children\xe2\x80\x99s Project Supervising Attorney.
  • Provide direct legal services to children and adolescents seeking asylum, Special Immigration Juvenile Status (SIJS), and other forms of relief from removal in the Memphis Immigration Court, USCIS, and regional probate and juvenile courts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide child-friendly, trauma-informed, and culturally competent legal services to children and youth who have been designated as unaccompanied minors, including Know Your Rights (KYR) presentations, individual screenings, pro se assistance, and referrals.
  • Manage a full caseload of direct representation clients with complex immigration issues.
  • Prepare and file applications for legal relief and represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the
  • Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), Texas state courts, and related entities.
