We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hyperbaric Chamber Operator to join our amazing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating hyperbaric chambers to provide oxygen therapy to patients, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintaining a sterile environment. This role is vital in supporting patient recovery and enhancing treatment outcomes through precise chamber management and patient care.
Hyperbaric Chamber Operator
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver excellent and professional patient experience throughout the facility.
Greet guests and patients immediately upon arrival in a professional and friendly manner.
Ensure patient and staff safety.
Abiliy to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
Obtain, convey and document patient vital signs and general conditions.
Consult with CHT (Certified Hyperbaric Technologist), current patient status, and any observation of concern.
Safely ensure that patients receive comfortable, professional hyperbaric treatment.
Report to CHT when ready to commence hyperbaric treatment, upon acknowledgment from CHT to commence treatment.
Conduct hyperbaric treatment under the direct supervision of the CHT.
Continuously maintain patient direct observation and communication while patient is under Hyperbaric Tender's care.
Document patient status every 15 minutes during treatment.
Immediately reports to CHT about any patient changes or concerns during treatment.
Ensure that chamber and gurney are operational prior to patient treatment.
Maintain chamber and gurney cleanliness.
Clean and disinfect chamber and gurney between patients.
Prepare chamber and gurney for storage at the end of daily operations according to protocol.
Education and Experience
BCLS For Healthcare Providers
Not Required for Chamber Operator but required for CHT in Training position
EMT/CNA/MA/PCT (at least 2 years)
Physical Requirements
Push pull patient on a gurney into and out of the HBO chamber.
Open/close chamber door frequently
Manual requirements for housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, floors, restrooms, etc.
Other Duties as Assigned
EMT's are strongly encouraged to apply.
