Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hurco 5 Axis Setup Technician to join our advanced manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in CNC machining, programming, and machine setup, with a focus on 5-axis Hurco machines. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with a variety of manufacturing equipment and tools. Duties

Set up and operate Hurco 5-axis CNC milling machines, ensuring accurate execution of complex machining operations. Program CNC machines using CAM software and verify tool paths for precision manufacturing. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure parts meet quality standards. Perform tooling changes, calibrations, and adjustments to optimize machine performance. Conduct quality control checks using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Troubleshoot machine issues related to Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other automation systems. Maintain detailed setup documentation and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Assist in materials handling, fabrication, assembly line support, and packaging as needed. Operate hand tools and machinery such as press brake machines, stamping presses, CNC lathes, and welding equipment when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization and equipment maintenance.

Experience

Proven experience with CNC programming (CAM), CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and related machining processes. Familiarity with Hurco 5-axis machines and Fanuc controls is highly desirable. Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, mechanical drawing interpretation, and precision measurement techniques. Experience working in manufacturing environments with factory experience in machining, fabrication, or assembly lines preferred. Hands-on experience with tooling setup, materials handling, welding, welding safety procedures, and factory safety protocols. Proficiency with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design or modifications is a plus. Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills necessary for precise machining tasks. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of manufacturing excellence through skilled setup and operation of Hurco 5-axis CNC machinery. Candidates should demonstrate technical proficiency combined with a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment.
