Job Title: Human Resources Officer II - Employee Support
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Pay Group: S40
Primary Purpose: Facilitate daily HR functions as well as perform technical and administrative work in support of the Human Resources department.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a college/university accredited by an organization
recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Each year of experience in excess of the required five (5) years may be
substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university
on a year-for-year basis.
Five (5) years full-time wage-earning experience in Human Resources, Payroll or Customer Service is required.
One (1) year experience in timekeeping and payroll data management is preferred.
This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources.
Skill in oral and written communications.
Skill to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments.
Skill in the use of computers and peripheral equipment.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and process new hire documents.
2. Conduct HR portion of new hire orientation.
3. Review paperwork for compliance with policies and procedures.
4. Liaise with other agencies for new hires, training, and terminations.
5. Prepare payroll documentation, including but not limited to: employment, termination, leave, transfer, promotion, absence information as well as salary analysis.
6. Responsible for processing weekly timekeeping records and communicating with principals/administrators regarding issues.
7. Responsible for the keying of all admin leave earned under the direction of the Benefits Coordinator.
8. Manages maintenance of automated systems, files, and records.
9. Respond to TDCJ requests and audits.
10. Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding and security orientation for Substitutes.
11. Accomplishes team objectives by supporting payroll and HR staff members.
12. Complete special projects as assigned by the Human Resources Administrator.
13. Compile data and prepare reports.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

15. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
16. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.
17. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
18. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
