The Human Resources Generalist will ensure our family of clinicians and staff find purpose, success and happiness in their roles with our agency.

The Human Resource Generalist is a versatile professional responsible for managing a wide range of HR functions within our agency to ensure smooth operations, legal compliance, and a positive, productive work environment. This role involves overseeing the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to compensation and benefits administration, policy development, and fostering employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:



Payroll and Benefits Administration:

Oversee and manage bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)). Serve as the primary liaison with benefits providers and assist employees with enrollment, inquiries, and claims resolution. Conduct monthly reconciliation of benefit costs and insurance bills.

Onboarding and Offboarding:

Coordinate the full recruitment life cycle, including job postings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews. Develop and facilitate comprehensive new-hire onboarding and orientation programs, ensuring a welcoming experience and educating new employees on company policies and procedures. Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews and necessary documentation.

HR Policy and Standards:

Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization and recommend changes based on legal updates or company needs. Conduct regular audits of HR processes and documentation to maintain compliance.

Personnel Files and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential physical and digital employee records and personnel files in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System). Ensure all necessary new-hire paperwork (e.g., I-9s, tax forms, employment contracts) and ongoing documentation (e.g., performance reviews, compensation changes) are properly filed and secured.

Employee Satisfaction and Relations:

Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR-related issues, policies, compensation, and benefits, providing timely and accurate information. Develop and implement initiatives and programs to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention (e.g., recognition programs, wellness activities, surveys). Address and resolve employee relations matters, including conflict mediation, disciplinary actions, and grievances, ensuring fairness and discretion.

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

Collaborating with department managers to understand staffing needs and create effective recruitment strategies. Managing job postings on various platforms and conducting initial screenings and interviews. Performing reference and background checks.

Performance Management:

Implementing and coordinating performance appraisal processes and performance reviews (e.g., quarterly or annual). Assisting managers in creating performance improvement plans and providing guidance on effective feedback techniques.

Training and Development:

Identifying training needs across the organization. Organizing and coordinating learning and development programs, workshops, and training sessions. Supporting employee career development and growth opportunities.

Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution:

Serving as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns regarding workplace issues. Mediating conflicts between employees or between employees and management. Addressing employee grievances and conducting workplace investigations into complaints (e.g., harassment or discrimination).

Compliance and Legal Matters:

Ensuring the company remains compliant with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, OSHA). Conducting internal audits of HR processes and documentation to identify potential compliance risks. Managing documentation and processes related to leaves of absence (FMLA, short-term disability, etc.) and workers' compensation claims.

HR Reporting and Metrics:

Gathering and analyzing HR data and metrics (e.g., employee turnover rates, time-to-hire, attendance patterns). Preparing reports for management to guide data-driven decision-making and inform HR strategy.

Workplace Safety and Wellness:

Helping implement and enforce safety protocols. Coordinating employee wellness programs and initiatives.

Offboarding:

Managing the employee exit process, including conducting exit interviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Organizational Development:

Assisting with the design of organizational structures and helping to define job requirements and descriptions. Contributing to the overall company culture and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEIB) initiatives.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in a human resources role with a focus on generalist functions. Strong knowledge of HR best practices and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Intuit Payroll) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is highly preferred.

Pay: $43,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
