Job Description

Shickel Corporation is seeking an experienced

HR Generalist

to join our team and support the full scope of Human Resources functions. This role is ideal for a dynamic HR professional who thrives in a hands-on environment, values teamwork, and is passionate about creating a positive, compliant, and employee-focused workplace.


Policy Administration & Compliance




Communicates and ensures consistent application of all company policies and procedures. Develops, communicates, and evaluates company policies to maintain fairness, clarity, and alignment with organizational goals. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits, compensation, employment, safety, and recordkeeping. Maintains and administers the Shickel Corporation Affirmative Action Program and related compliance data. Represents the organization at HR-related hearings, investigations, and external organizations.

Recruitment & Onboarding




Administers and oversees full-cycle recruitment and selection processes. Conducts wage and labor market surveys to maintain competitive compensation offerings. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to support engagement and alignment with company culture.

Compensation & Benefits Administration




Administers compensation programs and ensures the proper communication of personnel changes that impact payroll. Plans, implements, and monitors employee benefit programs, evaluating their costs, usage, and impact. Processes monthly benefit billings and manages updates for all group insurance programs.

Training & Development




Develops, coordinates, and monitors technical, educational, and management training programs. Conducts and coordinates training in interviewing, hiring, coaching, performance management, safety, and harassment prevention.

Employee Relations & Engagement




Plans and oversees employee relations programs to promote open communication, teamwork, and a positive work environment supportive of a nonunion culture. Conducts exit interviews and prepares separation documentation to gather feedback and ensure smooth transitions. Provides career counseling and supports performance review processes.

Safety & OSHA Administration




Monitors OSHA regulations and supports accident prevention, reporting, and safety tracking (in conjunction with the Safety Coordinator). Follows all workplace safety guidelines and supports the company's safety culture.

Recordkeeping & HR Operations




Maintains accurate and confidential employee files and HR recordkeeping systems. Supports the Quality Management System and ensures work meets standards for accuracy, neatness, and compliance. Utilizes job-specific and company-standard software within a Windows-based environment. Monitors HR department expenditures to ensure efficient use of financial resources.

Leadership & Collaboration




Serves as a key resource to management, guiding HR policies, performance matters, and employee relations. Collaborates with leadership to support company-wide initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. * Exhibits teamwork, cooperation, and alignment with Shickel Corporation Principles, Policies, and Benefits guidelines.
