Human Resources Generalist

Staffing:

  • Processes all status changes and obtains appropriate signatures.
  • Prepares and processes separation paperwork and obtains appropriate signatures (includes deactivating security badge, preparing separation notice, sending benefit letter and appropriate forms).
  • Enters status change information into payroll system and forwards copies to payroll.
  • Coordinate with manager regarding staffing levels and scheduling interview sessions.
  • Set up new hire orientation.
  • Set up new associate records in database.
Job Postings:
  • Maintains job posting log and files.
  • Prepares and posts job postings.
  • Verifies all job posting applications and sign-ups for eligibility.
  • Coordinates interviews with area manager or coordinator.
  • Verifies scores and obtains appropriate approvals for selected candidate.
Temporary Help:
  • Order temps and coordinate with department manager/coordinator/leader.
  • Monitors and maintains temp list and weekly dollars spent.
  • Verifies hours worked and submits to temp service weekly.
  • Verifies and approves temporary help billings and submits to accounts payable.
  • Resolves all temporary help issues with the assistance of the agency and management staff.
Training and Development:
  • Maintain and update training lists
  • Schedule training sessions
  • Enter associate training records into database (UKG)
Benefits/Incentives:
  • Track new associate records and set up benefit meetings
  • Update medical, dental, FMLA, leave and disability reports/logs
  • Ensure associate compliance with FMLA, short term and long term disability, and other leaves of absence.
  • Coordinates safety shoe and glasses program.
  • Schedules and posts shoe mobile
  • Maintains and updates safety shoe and glasses logs
  • Resolves associate issues with vendors
  • Administers associate gift program (funeral, births, hospitalization)
Associate Relations:
  • Conducts exit interviews on voluntary resignations to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Provides one-on-one counseling to associates (one-on-one, EAP referrals, etc.)
  • Assists Associate Services Manager in investigating associate issues and complaints.
  • Assists department in preparing for associate functions (holiday functions, luncheons, picnic, family day, perfect attendance incentives, holiday gifts, etc.)
Other Responsibilities:
  • Maintains security badge system (new hires, renewals, visitor passes, separations, etc.)
  • Covers for receptionist as necessary.
Maintains and creates reports and charts. * Checks drop boxes daily.
  • Maintains supply of department forms.
  • Maintains department filing and storage areas.
  • Maintains and updates associate bulletin boards and information centers (Law Posters etc.)
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.
  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor
This full-time salary role is a part of our Human Resources team and reports to the HR Manager.
Required experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:
Microsoft Office at an intermediate level
Effective email and electronic communication skills are required.
