Under general supervision employee will be asked to assist Human Resources staff with various day-to-day tasks. Tasks include but not limited administrative management tasks, support with retention and engagement strategy design and implementation, payroll and benefits support, as well as assisting with training and development programs. Ability to work independently required. Willingness to learn, adapt, and professional telephone techniques required. High degree of organizational skills and confidentiality required.
Essential Functions
Maintain employee directory updates
Prepare documents for all new hires and terminations in our on-line payroll system and in our on-line onboarding system.
Proofreading and formatting Employee handbook updates alongside manager.
Assisting with candidate outreach and talent acquisition.
Assist with the tracking and management of all open enrollments-insurance, 401k, FSA, and other benefits.
Scheduling and data tracking of performance reviews, exit interviews, and mentorship/internship initiatives.
Supporting manager with new manager training logistics.
Performance Improvement Plan Documentation.
Help provide year-end documents to employees such as W-2s and ACA forms;
Any other HR tasks that are assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge: Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic; modern office methods, procedures and equipment, and business letter and report writing; fundamental record keeping principles and procedures, and filing systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records. Ability to deal with a variety of people under constantly changing circumstances using tact and diplomacy. Ability to handle emergency situations and pressure due to complexity and time sensitivity.
Skill: Following oral and written directions, working and interacting effectively with others, learning rapidly, and interpreting/applying laws, rules, and office policies and procedures.
Typing accurately, communicating tactfully and effectively in both oral and written form; working independently in the absence of supervision. Analyzing situations carefully and adopting effective courses of action; compiling/maintaining complex and extensive records/files; preparing reports and composing correspondence independently. Organizational skills, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
1. Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by specialized secretarial courses
2. Related Experience with human resources management and payroll required
