About the Role

Performs a variety of day-to-day strategic and administrative management of the employee life cycle and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) functions ensuring data integrity including the processing and reporting of HR data. The HR Generalist/LOA Specialist works independently under general direction. Handles problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach or action to take and interprets guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices.

What You Will Do

Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, regarding employee leave entitlements Handle administrative tasks for onboarding, such as background investigations, I-9's policies and procedure acknowledgement. Process and administer all types of leave requests including FMLA, medical leave (including PFL, maternity, parental and disability leave), personal leave, vacation time, sabbatical requests and other leaves as outlined in our employee handbooks Review, track, and handle leave requests to maintain compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Collaborate with managers and employees to coordinate leave requests and ensure eligibility requirements are met, and proper documentation is submitted. Ensure accurate record-keeping for all leave balances and usage. Provide employees with information on leave policies and assist in understanding their rights and responsibilities. Track leave balances and track employee leave usage and coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate leave pay and deductions. Coordinate return-to-work processes for employees on leave Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee benefits and leaves of absence. Create, organize, and maintain electronic and paper files Conduct audits as applicable to ensure data integrity (personnel files, I-9) Compose and distribute routine written correspondence from human resources (separations, leave, anniversary, birth, and staff announcements) Maintain SOP to ensure current departmental operational processes are documented Manage the off-boarding process, set up separation meetings, close out files, system shut off request Maintain monthly reports/ list, New Hires, Separations, Transfers and Promotions, Emergency Contact List Assist with verification of employment (VOE) and Unemployment activities (claims, appeals, hearings) Manage the Employee Referral Program Process Transfer/Promotion (includes background screens and applicable offer letter, PNF

What You Will Need

5-7 years' demonstrated experience with employee leave administration, preferably with a specific focus on disability, FMLA and/or Paid Family Leave and employee accommodation process. Prefer international experience but not required Extensive knowledge of leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, ERISA, COBRA and other applicable federal and state laws. Project management, including the ability to establish and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced, detail-driven environment. Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of commitment to confidentiality. Exceptional customer service focus, using excellent interpersonal skills for the purpose of communicating and listening, and with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. Proficient knowledge and experience in using HRIS System (e.g. UKG, ADP, dayforce Strong written and verbal communications Microsoft Access, Excel, Office, PowerPoint & Outlook Organization and time management

Required qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in business, HR or related field required. Equivalent experience will be considered. Previous experience in an HR operations and LOA related position

Compensation:

Salary range is $65,000-$80,000 USD annually. Salary rate is based on experience, skills, and geographical location.
