Job Summary:





Supports the Human Resources Manager by managing employee records, assisting in investigations, workforce planning, compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreement and company polices in order to create good employee relations and minimize risk.


Essential Functions:



Investigations and Documentation: Conduct employee investigations, including interviewing involved parties, collecting written statements, and documenting findings in a clear and concise manner. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of counseling, progressive disciplinary actions, and terminations, as well as positive recognition of good work. Spend time at stations engaging directly with Ambassadors and Supervisors to build trust, identify issues early, and promote a positive workplace culture. Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to Supervisors and Ambassadors to foster a culture of accountability and recognition. Promote employee engagement through proactive field presence, reinforcing Block by Block's values and standards. Monitor attendance records, analyze trends, and identify patterns that may require corrective action. Partner with Supervisors to ensure attendance standards are communicated, documented, and consistently enforced. Collaborate with operations leadership to implement corrective measures that support attendance improvement and workforce reliability. Support Operations Manager and senior leadership in ensuring all disciplinary and investigative processes are conducted fairly and with minimal risk. Provide guidance on compliance with policies and procedures related to employee conduct, attendance, and workplace standards. Maintain confidentiality and ensure due process in all employee-related matters. Actively partner with client representatives regarding employee relations matters and ensure transparency in handling sensitive cases. Provide reporting on investigations, attendance issues, and employee relations outcomes to demonstrate program effectiveness and accountability. Assisting with processing employee grievances and disciplinary actions to ensure risk is minimal and assisting to facilitate fair resolutions for all. Work closely with senior leadership to identify internal and external candidates. Start programs to address competency gaps. Assists in developing better Human Resource training for Managers and Shift Supervisors. Utilizes a combination of standard Block by Block reporting processes combined with processes developed specifically for Transit Company on accomplishments and program effectiveness.

Communication and Reporting:




Tracks human resources statistics/outcomes and creates written reports Maintain organized records that ensure compliance with Federal, State and Block by Block standards. Maintains effective communication with a variety of stakeholders, including Block by Block employees assigned to the MBTA, staff members at all levels within the MBTA organization, and riders of the MBTA Must also ensure compliance with all documentation requirements associated with the position Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create, design and apply reporting tools

High School Diploma or GED (HR SHRM Certification Preferred) A minimum of (5) years prior human resources experience. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to work on deadline in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:



May involve sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time. (More than four hours a day) Occasional stretching, twisting or bending. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds Vision requirements to have ability to observe near and far Work may involve moderate exposure to the elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises Must be capable of working outside in extreme heat (with increased frequency of breaks) or cold, with provided cold weather gear and also with increased frequency of breaks
