Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is seeking a professional, service-oriented HR Coordinator to serve as the "face and voice" of our Headquarters location. This unique role blends high-level public relations with essential Human Resources support.
The ideal candidate thrives in a customer-service-driven environment, balancing the needs of the front desk with the organized, confidential nature of HR operations.
This is a full time position and requires the employee to be available to work 40 hours per week between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This is not a telework position.
This position works in a customer service focused environment and will receive numerous daily telephone and in-person contacts with the public and law enforcement officials and employees alike. The individual selected to fill this position will be required to become knowledgeable with the KBI's structure, policies and procedures as well as to gain knowledge about other state or local agencies and certain private entities that may be able to assist our constituents.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Serves as the receptionist for KBI Headquarters by answering incoming calls and directing calls to the appropriate parties.
Receiving and conveying messages in writing, electronically and verbally;
Politely greet and direct visitors, controls visitor access by issuing visitor passes and maintaining visitor access to the building;
Processes subpoenas being observant of court dates for immediate notification of personnel;
Maintains Inventory Control for employee locations and phone lists;
Personnel records steward;
Provides clerical support to the Human Resources Office on a regular basis as well as all members of Executive Staff when needed.
Qualifications:
Education
High School or GED
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in general office, clerical, HR or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency;
Notary license or ability to obtain within 6 months;
Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
Excellent problem solving skills;
Ability to maintain confidentiality;
Reliable and predictable attendance;
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements
As a condition of employment, you will be subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, fingerprint based records check, and comprehensive background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers. The pre-employment process will be waived for current KBI personnel who have previously completed the screening requirements
