Job Description

This position is responsible for the company's overall benefits, recruitment, and safety administration, to include: health plan, supplemental health/welfare plans, 401(k) plan, workers compensation, FMLA, and all employee safety programs and training to maintain OSHA compliance and to manage our workers compensation, day to day administration of the recruiting processes, with the overall purpose of enabling quality and timely hiring to meet the company's staffing needs.

Essential Functions:



Provide exceptional guest service to both our internal and external customers. Education, enrollment, and daily administration of the company's health plan, serving as liaison between employee and claims administration as needed to ensure appropriate and timely resolution of claims issues. Responsible for communicating with all newly eligible employees' details of the health plan and enrollment deadlines. Responsible for quarterly hours reports to identify eligibility changes due to the plan's hours worked requirement and communicating eligibility change to impacted employees. Serve as a contact for supplemental benefit providers to coordinate education and enrollment processes. Serve as liaison between employees and providers as needed to facilitate issue resolution. Regular auditing of all benefit programs to ensure appropriate employee coverage and payroll deductions, as well as timely and appropriate payment of vendor invoices. Daily use of the HRIS system (SAGE) and Time & Attendance system (TMS) for data entry and reporting purposes. Create and maintain all appropriate record keeping/documentation for assigned areas of responsibility. Manage the staffing requisition process to include internal and external job postings. Manage the requisition process to ensure appropriate headcount management. Screen applications and forward to appropriate hiring department. Manage interview and selection documentation to ensure the company is compliant with all applicable employment laws. Manage the candidate to new hire process, ensuring hiring managers are kept current on status of their candidates and we are taking appropriate and timely action on candidates not completing the process. Assist in the facilitation of new hire orientations, guest service training, non-Certified alcohol training, and assist in the scheduling and completion of all required new hire electronic training. Assist with other HR duties as assigned.

Required:



Minimum of A.A. Degree; BA Degree Preferred. Minimum of 1 year of office administration, to include successful handling of a high volume of varied activities. Minimum of 2 years of guest service experience, which must include significant daily interactions with either customers or employees. Demonstrate excellent organizational, time-management, oral/written communication skills. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in difficult or emotional circumstances. Must have demonstrated proficiency in accurately handling detailed work, Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel. * Must have ability to obtain Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission license.
