The purpose of this position is to provide parking services to those that utilize Church Headquarters parking facilities. The parking attendant faithfully serves everyone with charity, integrity, and knowledge. As they serve under the direction of the Spirit and master their responsibilities, they are helping to bring souls unto Christ and establish the cause of Zion. This is an entry-support, individual contributor role.
Be the first friendly face they see. Join our team as a Parking Services Assistant and help create a smooth, welcoming experience for everyone visiting Church Headquarters. In this role, you'll manage parking equipment, validate passes, collect parking revenue, and assist with basic computer input and data entry. You'll also support key departments like Church Security, Event Services, and the Salt Lake Temple.

Location: Church Headquarters, Downtown, Salt Lake City, UT
Available Shifts:

  • Wednesday and Friday 4:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Morning Shift
**All shifts include a rotating Sunday shift as well as occasional events and holidays as scheduled
Wage: $19.00/hr
THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION

**Please Note: This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus.**
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor parking to ensure safety and security and reports suspicious people and vehicles.
  • Patrol parking areas for valid permits parked in authorized locations.
  • Issue parking notices to improve compliance of rules and regulations.
  • Assist customers with the collection of parking revenues through credit card processing devices.
  • Direct parking facility traffic to keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect parking areas and reports maintenance and cleanliness issues.
  • Perform vacancy counts and facility inspections.
  • Help customers with finding lost cars, jump starting dead batteries, and changing flat tires.
  • Place traffic cones and barricades to reserve spaces or redirect vehicles.
  • Operate all parking and computer equipment including carts.
  • Provide training for newly hired parking attendants and certifies their capabilities.
  • Give accurate parking directions and information.
  • Serve on a team of parking attendants and ensures all services meet or exceed expectations.
  • Work a regular shift, Sunday rotational shift, holidays, and all mandatory events (devotionals, concerts, conferences, etc.).
  • Commit to working extra hours to help cover open shifts due to illness, vacation, events, etc.
  • Complete all other responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive company carts and vehicles.
  • Superior customer service and public relations skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly speak and write in English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Proven record of punctuality and commitment to following company rules and policies.
  • Outstanding ability to resolve difficult situations with kindness and with adherence to the rules.
  • Strong computer skills and mechanically adept with ability to operate all assigned equipment.
  • Physically fit and ability to sit, walk, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Good visual acuity and ability to distinguish permits of various shapes and colors from far away.
