SAFE Program Director

DESCRIPTION:



The Housing Program Assistant will provide program support for participants in SAFE's Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing program. The Housing Program assistant will support case management and program goals designed to help survivors work towards long term housing stability and independence by developing individualized housing and services plans, connecting participants with community resources, and offering trauma informed advocacy.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE HOUSING PROGRAM ASSISTANT:



1. Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and sexual violence issues and the effects of domestic and sexual violence on survivors and their children;

2. Experience providing housing-focused case management, advocacy, or related direct services.

3. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate effectively with a diverse population

4. Demonstrated ability to form and maintain collaborative working relationships with participants, landlords, service providers, and community partners.

5. Ability to work within an empowerment framework using trauma informed, strength-based approach

6. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

7. Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgement within a team structure.

8. Proficiency with computer skills, databases, and general office tasks.

9. Must pass a background check

RESONSIBILITIES OF THE HOUSING PROGRAM ASSISTANT:



Case Management and Housing Support:



1. Provide case management support to transitional housing and rapid rehousing program participants, including entry, needs assessment, and housing stability planning.

2. Complete income verification and rental cost calculations for survivors entering SAFE's housing programs

3. Maintain accurate documentation of support for reporting requirements in adherence of SAFE's policies and procedures.

4. Advocate for participants with landlords, community agencies, and other service providers.

Survivor Support and Crisis Response:



1. Provide Occasional coverage on SAFE Crisis Line

2. Provide backup support and crisis response in the absence of the Housing Case Manager

3. Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents and their families

4. Report and document any concerns, incidents, or maintenance needs

5. Support adherence to program guidelines and trauma informed practices

General:



1. Adhere to SAFE's Confidentiality Policy and Procedures;

2. Participate in agency and program evaluation activities as required

3. Provide the Program Director with regular updates and reports

4. Request assistance from the SAFE Program Director in situations where legal or ethical obligations are unclear;

5. Engage in a continuous process of learning and professional development;

6. Complete other duties as assigned;

7. Act as a representative of SAFE in the community. The Executive Director, however, must approve any issuance of SAFE policy or position statements;

8. Read, be familiar with and adhere to the mission, policies, procedures and core values of SAFE.
