Duties

Operate laundry machines and equipment efficiently to wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, clothing, and other textiles. Maintain cleanliness of laundry rooms, storage areas, and related facilities through routine janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces. Sort, inspect, and properly handle soiled linens and clothing to ensure quality standards are met. Assist with the organization of clean linens and supplies to ensure easy access for staff and residents. Support general housekeeping duties including trash removal, floor care (buffing and polishing), and ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. Collaborate with maintenance staff to report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed in laundry or cleaning areas. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.

Experience

Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred. Experience with industrial cleaning techniques, including floor buffing and deep cleaning procedures. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices such as basic repairs or troubleshooting laundry equipment is a plus. Familiarity with commercial cleaning products, tools, and safety guidelines. Previous porter experience or background in housekeeping roles that involve linen management or facilities upkeep is advantageous.
