Spaulding Academy & Family Services has an opportunity available for a

Housekeeper

. Individuals in this role will perform general daily cleaning tasks in our cottages, common areas, conference rooms or school.

Requirements

: Ability to work independently or as part of a team Work effectively when supervisors are not present Basic knowledge and understanding of cleaning concepts Able to complete assigned tasks in a timely, efficient manner Works safely with a variety of cleaning products, following recommended usage guidelines and PPE requirements established in manufacturer Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Is familiar with Spaulding's Safety Program, accessible in SharePoint or by printed copy, and adheres to all provisions of the written safety plan.

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping (wet and dry) floors, stairways, etc. Emptying all trash receptacles, replacing can liners and disposing of trash in appropriate dumpster Cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces such as counters, tables, desks, etc. Cleaning and disinfecting door handles and light switches Cleaning restrooms (sinks, floors, toilets, showers/tubs, mirrors, tile, etc.) Stocking restrooms with toilet paper and paper towels as needed General high and low dusting and cobweb removal Remove scuff marks from walls and doors Clean kitchen appliances, inside and out Clean cabinet shelves and drawers Clean windows and glass doors Clean and dispose of spills and bodily fluids using appropriate PPE and disposal guidelines Additional duties or projects, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High school diploma or GED certificate, or 4 years of housekeeping experience in a business setting in lieu of education. Previous Housekeeping experience in a business setting preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

: Knowledge of safety procedures in all phases of housekeeping work. Must possess and maintain a current valid New Hampshire Motor Vehicle Operator's license.

TRAINING REQUIRED: Completion of appropriate OSHA Safety Program training.

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday, 5am - 1pm; staggered hours may be necessary for job completion. Overtime, as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Support Services Management Team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

: Duties may be performed under challenging working conditions, such as exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

: Position will require frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds and less, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Examples include: The ability to lift cases of household supplies, carry vacuum cleaner up stairs, routinely carry the backpack vacuum, carrying mop buckets, etc. Occasional push/pull capacity up to 100lbs, with assistance, may be required. Example includes, pulling a refrigerator out of its space to clean behind. Will be required to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb stairs, walk on all surfaces, including uneven surfaces, and run.
