POSITION SUMMARY:

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Cleans within required timeframes to include but not limited to: stripping and making beds; dusting furniture; washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork; vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floor; washing windows, mirrors, door panels, and sills; emptying and cleaning wastebaskets; cleaning and vacuuming rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies; and cleaning bathroom sink, toilet and tubs/showers stalls. Examine carpets, drapes, and furniture for wear. Prepare requests for maintenance or extensive cleaning. Assist with deep cleaning projects and cleaning rooms when required. Communicate regularly with Head Housekeeper and Front Desk on status of room inventory and special requests or VIP check-ins. Properly use chemicals and tools to avoid injury, damage, or accidents. Ensure safety and security by following key security and guest privacy rules. Stock and organize housekeeping cart and equipment prior to leaving for the day. Use plunger to unclog toilets, use hair removal tool in sink and bathtub drains. Restock and replenish guestroom and bathroom supplies. Maintain housekeeping storage rooms and remove trash from receptacles inside and outside of the building. Actively participate in laundry duties to ensure its completion, we do not allow laundry to roll over to the next business day. Keep an eye out for business travelers, offer suggestions to the front desk or sales manager for follow-up. Each person on our team is part of our success and permission to sell! Other duties as assigned by your manager, including helping with breakfast, extras, and covering shifts as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Hotel Housekeeping experience preferred but not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Weekend availability is required. Must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday. Flexibility - while we try to maintain a regular schedule, we work with each other to get things done. Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and crawl on occasion. Must be able to use hands and fingers to feel and handle objects. Must be able to reach, climb, and balance. Must have the ability to see and adjust vision; close, far, and peripheral. Must be able to carry or lift items up to 50 pounds and push or pull objects or furniture up to 400 pounds. Ability to speak, read, and write in English; bilingual or multilingual to include Spanish preferred. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure environments. Ability to anticipate, prevent, and solve problems proactively. Ability to accept constructive criticism and implement changes as a demonstration of professionalism and maturity.
