The Utility Worker (Housekeeper) is cross-trained. This position is a flexible position that will be assigned to various departments by management to perform various jobs. During the time of operational needs, you may be assigned to another department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Housekeeping:

Equipment operated: Vacuum cleaner, buffer, waxer, mops, brooms, mop bucket, other cleaning equipment Housekeeping daily duties include tasks such as: vaccum, sweep and mop floors, wipe and wash down walls as needed, dusts and polishes furniture, empties waste cans, keep windows clean, washes curtains as needed. Toilet and show duties include: scrubbing and disinfecting, replacing toilet tissue, paper towels, soap and other supplies, check drains, lights, reports and light repairs. Cleans all office areas, staff lounge, activities building, patios and lanais. Recreation rooms: Vacuum and clean, check furniture, lights and tables, report repairs to maintenance department. Clean wheelchairs and fans Resident rooms: Clean windows, screens and sills, change linens, clean beds/bedding, vacuum and mop the floors. Miscellaneous: Clean elevator, utility rooms, maintenance rooms.

Laundry

Equipment operated: Clothes washers, dryers, clothe carts, janitorial cleaning equipment, iron and ironing board, other related equipment. Daily duties: receive soiled laundry and separate by category, washes all items using procedures and supplies appropriate for each category. Dries clothing. Folds clothing, separates by resident and category. Delivers clothing to proper location and stores correctly. Sanitizes laundry equipment and laundry room daily, including removal of lint.
There may be other maintenance/janitorial duties not specifically listed above that may be asked of the candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED Requires lifting items up to 70 pounds Requires frequent stooping, bending, pushing, pulling and continuous standing Annual physical/infection/transmittable disease clearance, TB clearance certificate Driver's license and abstract, if applicable Ability to read, write and speak English The ability to contribute to a place of aloha for all
