Title: Aide Category: I Department: Housekeeping Pay Grade: 1 Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor/Vice President, Support Services Status : Non-Exempt I. Basic Function of Position: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Hospital, Physician Offices and Convent. II. Duties and Responsibilities: Cleans bathrooms, patient rooms, offices, surgery/recovery, doctor offices and trash chutes, morgue and all areas of the hospital. Responsible for all types of floor and window care and wall washing. Adheres to organization health and safety standards. Knowledge of linen distribution and assures that all linens that distributed are spot free, odor free and of adequate supply. Provides a safe and clean environment for everybody. Cleans up any accidental spills that could be a safety hazard to patients, staff or the general public. Keeps assigned work area(s) clean and in order. Safely operates equipment such as, buffers, sweepers, etc. Reports any damaged or broken equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Vice President,,Support Services immediately. Adheres to hospital\xe2\x80\x99s Infection Control Policies. Assists the Housekeeping Supervisor with departmental tasks when necessary. Requires precision, accuracy, and timely performance of all job duties. Participation in community projects for hospital and community well-being expected. III . Minimum Qualifications: A. Education and/or Experience: On the job training is provided. High School diploma or GED equivalent required or ability to obtain GED within 6 months of hire date. Will be required to obtain certification of the Infectious Medical Waste within 90 days from date of hire. B. Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of Housekeeping procedures. Prior experience helpful, but not required. Must have multi-tasking abilities. Must be able to work all departments of the hospital and physicians offices including flexible shifts and weekends. Must use good interpersonal communication skills with the hospital staff and the general public. Must have the ability to efficiently work as a member of a team and must relate well with others.
