Job Description

The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.



This is a second shift position. The employee should expect to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays with the frequency of being scheduled to work these times varying during the year depending on the facilities' schedule. The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform cleaning, janitorial and set-up tasks as assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, washing, stripping, waxing of tile floors, restroom sanitation and assisting with room set ups. Also, this position will report any building repairs to the immediate supervisor. This position will function at the Journey Competency Level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position


This position requires knowledge of accepted cleaning procedures, the ability to perform strenuous physical work, including the ability to lift heavy equipment and supplies, an ability to perform event set-up, tear-down and clean-up of special events held in the facility.


Minimum Qualifications


Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
