The Approach Homes are a co-ed residential step-down program for students transitioning from our sister company Elevations RTC. The Approach Homes are specifically designed for adolescents ages 15 to 19 years old who have successfully completed Elevations therapeutic program and will benefit from more in depth integration into the community before returning home.
As a House Mentor, you will help connect our housemates with opportunities in the community including, but limited to employment, secondary education, extra-curriculars, and volunteer work.
House Mentors supervise up to 10 housemates and oversee day to day operations of the home. You serve as positive role models for housemates by providing in-the-moment coaching and constructive feedback. You safeguard for a physically and emotionally safe environment. If you are self-motivated, compassionate, have a sincere desire to make a difference in the lives of the housemates we serve, and enjoy working in a positive, friendly working environment, we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Mentor and provide in-the-moment coaching to our housemates
Safeguard supervision and safety of housemates
Ability to learn from and work with licensed mental health professionals related to the diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional, and learning disorders, and other underlying issues
Monitor, direct and assist in medication administration, preparation of daily meals, community outings, and daily chores to ensure a clean, healthy environment
Participate in paid social and recreational activities such as, but not limited to VASA, Lagoon, escape rooms, movies, meals, skiing, hiking, fishing, and bi-annual Approach trips (on volunteer basis) to places such as Bear Lake, Moab, and Colorado
Capable of being well versed with The Approach Home programmatics, policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be 23 years of age
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
Customer service oriented
Strong work ethic, compassionate, and a self-motivated
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain healthy, professional boundaries
Show a desire for professional growth within our industry
Willing to work weekends and holidays
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles
Able to pass a background check and drug screening
Job Type: Part-time PM shift from 3pm-11pm
Salary: $18/hour depending on education and experience
