This entry-level caregiving position earns a competitive wage of $16.50/hour. WORK SCHEDULE

The typical schedule for this position is Mon - Fri 11:00 am - 7:00 pm and every other Saturday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN HOURLY SERVICES DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)

As an entry-level Hourly Services Direct Support Professional (DSP), you support individuals with developmental disabilities to live their lives as independently as possible. Your support is needed in many areas of daily living including medication administration, hygiene, grooming, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, and housekeeping. You also assist them with grocery shopping, running errands, and finding activities that they enjoy. As needed, you provide physical support such as lifting individuals in and out of wheelchairs.

Using effective mentoring techniques, you provide hand-over-hand assistance. You help to maintain individuals\' personal spending ledgers and review their checking/savings accounts as needed. You also assist with employment, making sure individuals are able to perform their jobs as expected. Conscientiously, you keep accurate and up-to-date documentation as well as promptly report any concerns about health or safety. You find it rewarding to help others lead self-fulfilling lives!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN HOURLY SERVICES DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)

• 18+ years of age
• Basic arithmetic skills and the ability to read
• Valid driver\'s license and a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation with current insurance
• A heart for serving individuals with disabilities

Now known as TURN Community Services, we provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities across Utah.
