Hourly Research Assistant I


Gathers, organizes and analyzes data through interviews, literature searches, medical record reviews and related non-lab methods for use in studies, publications and other research related uses.


Responsibilities


Essential Functions:



Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the clinical research program or laboratory. Tasks will vary by department and research category. Typically, manage the front desk, organize files, and perform other clerical duties associated with research studies and programs. Recruit participants, verify eligibility, and enrolls subjects. Schedule participant visits and maintain records. Transport samples or laboratory equipment. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies. Tasks will vary by department and research category.



1. Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources; may enter data into a PC or computer terminal.

2. Obtains informed consent from participants.

3. Maintains a knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations.

4. May edit research papers, project reports, proposals and curriculum materials prior to publication or presentation.

5. Prepares format for final disposition of data; maintains an internal library on project information resources and final data collected.

6. May work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data.
