Experienced Floor Technician (Evening Shift) - Local Private School

Position Summary

A well-established private school in the desirable Lake Jeanette area of Greensboro, NC, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Evening Floor Technician to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in all aspects of floor maintenance and be committed to preserving the quality and appearance of our facility's flooring surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is the professional care and maintenance of all flooring surfaces, which includes but is not limited to:

Stripping and Waxing: Expertly strip, seal, and refinish various hard floor surfaces (e.g., VCT, terrazzo). Buffing and Polishing: Perform daily, weekly, or periodic high-speed and low-speed buffing/burnishing of floors to maintain shine and appearance. Carpet Care: Perform commercial carpet cleaning using extraction methods, spot cleaning, and bonnet cleaning. Maintenance: Ensure proper cleaning and upkeep of equipment used for floor care. General Cleaning Support: Assist with general custodial duties as needed to maintain cleanliness in common areas, hallways, and classrooms during shift hours. Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when handling chemicals and operating machinery.

Schedule & Compensation

Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Hours: 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM (4 hours nightly) Days: Monday through Friday Compensation: $14.50 per hour

Qualifications

Proven Experience is Required: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Floor Technician or similar specialized custodial role. Expert Knowledge: Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of floor care procedures, equipment (e.g., buffers, scrubbers, extractors), and chemical application. Reliable Transportation is a MUST. Must be able to commute consistently and punctually to the Lake Jeanette area of Greensboro, NC. Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet daily goals. Possess a positive, friendly, and professional attitude. Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, and operate heavy floor care machinery for extended periods.
