Job Summary:

Our Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This role involves greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and coordinating with servers to ensure smooth service. A successful Host/Hostess has excellent communication and organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests warmly as they arrive and thank them as they leave. Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using the restaurant's reservation system. Escort guests to tables and present menus. Communicate accurate wait times and accommodate special seating requests when possible. Maintain a clean and organized host stand, lobby, and entry area. Coordinate with servers and management to ensure even seating distribution and smooth service flow. Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant. Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the dining area and ensuring cleanliness. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and courtesy. Support team members and help with bussing and table resetting.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a host/hostess or customer service role preferred (not required). Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Familiarity with reservation or POS systems is a plus.

Work Environment:

Fast-paced restaurant. Frequent interaction with guests, coworkers, and management.

Compensation:

Hourly wage plus tip share. Employee discount.
