Hospice nursing is about helping those facing a terminal illness to handle the changes they experience as a disease naturally progresses. Hospice RN's must have strong assessment, communication and team work skills. Hospice RN's visit patients on a regular basis and provide medical support in these areas:

Head to toe nursing assessment Pain and symptom management (palliative or comfort care) Interventions to promote patient well being and patient's ability to live each day as fully as possible. Medication interventions as ordered by primary care provider Care plan implementation and collaboration with other hospice team members End-of-life care and comfort.

Fulltime schedule (4 or 5 days per week), Monday through Friday, 8a-5p with ONE weekend of oncall per month. Oncall work includes a 50% shift differential! Competitive wage, based on experience.
