We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Director of Clinical Services (DCS). to join our amazing team. The DCS oversees patient care quality, staff management, and regulatory compliance within a hospice program. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, administrative, and clinical experience. Key responsibilities include managing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with Medicare/Medicaid, overseeing clinical records, managing the nursing budget, and coordinating with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team to deliver compassionate care. Key Responsibilities
Quality of Care:
Ensure high-quality, safe, and compassionate patient care services.
Oversee and improve the quality of patient care services.
Develop and maintain comprehensive patient care plans.
Staff Management:
Lead, hire, train, and manage the hospice nursing staff.
Conduct regular staff meetings and in-service training programs to meet the education and training needs of personnel.
Ensure nursing staff performance meets organizational goals and standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid standards.
Maintain clinical records and other necessary reports in compliance with legal requirements.
Stay informed about changes in the field of nursing and hospice care and share information with the team.
Financial and Administrative Management:
Develop and administer hospice policies and procedures.
Assist in budget preparation and manage financial aspects of the nursing department.
Oversee the maintenance of adequate and appropriate inventory supplies and equipment.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as a point of contact between nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
Facilitate communication between patients, families, and hospice staff.
Resolve patient and family concerns and complaints.
Promote hospice referrals within the healthcare community.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is typically the minimum requirement, with many DONs holding a Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
Licensure:
Must be a licensed and registered nurse (RN).
Experience:
Requires significant experience in clinical settings, hospice care, and operations management.
Skills:
Strong leadership and compassionate leadership qualities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Adaptability to new situations and changes in the healthcare field.
Duties
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in hospice settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home health environments.
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Develop and implement effective care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring adherence to Medicare guidelines.
Manage patient documentation and medical records using EMR and EHR systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide education and support to patients' families regarding care options, medication management, and end-of-life issues.
Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality patient care.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as MDS.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices relevant to hospice care.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
