Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aides to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in their homes or hospice facilities, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with meal preparation and feeding. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including laundry and light housekeeping tasks. Utilize Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices safely when transferring patients. Document patient care activities accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Participate in care planning meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care. Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or those with developmental disabilities.

Experience

Previous experience in hospice care, home health, or long-term care settings is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is essential. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in assisted living environments is a plus. CPR certification is highly desirable. Knowledge of catheter care and vital sign monitoring is beneficial. A background in caregiving or senior care will enhance your ability to provide compassionate support.
