Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled

Horizontal Drill Operator (HDD)

to join our team. This role is critical to safely and efficiently operating HDD drills and locating systems, ensuring the successful installation of conduit, cable, and fiber.

Essential Functions

Operate HDD drills & locating systems

safely and efficiently

Trench, place conduit, pull cable & fiber

, and direct bury main-line drops

Locate and verify utilities

; pothole all utilities that will be paralleled or crossed during bore Apply

knowledge of telecommunication construction

and HDD operations

Inspect & maintain equipment and job sites

Use cable placement tools to

identify & troubleshoot problems

Read prints & understand underground processes

Maintain a strong focus on

safety

Communicate, teach, and mentor

less experienced crew members Work overtime as needed; travel for temporary projects (per diem provided)

Minimum Qualifications

1-2 years of relevant experience Valid driver's license with clean driving record CDL preferred but not required Ability to pass supervised and random drug tests Fluent in English Strong work ethic, communication skills, and positive attitude Ability to work safely in all weather conditions, with or without supervision Experience operating equipment such as directional drills, locating systems, trenchers, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, etc.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Extended periods of climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, wind)
