Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Foreman to lead a team of laborers on various residential construction projects. We are looking for someone with framing experience that can lead a team of 4 laborers in building decks, framing homes, building out basements, renovations, etc. As a Foreman, you will play a crucial role in coordinating activities on-site, managing resources, and fostering a safe working environment.

Our signature project is a residential development in Fall River, WI composed of structural stone houses. Shire Group also takes on various residential construction projects throughout the Madison, WI area.

Duties

Work under the General Contractor who oversees all of the projects at Shire Group. Be the onsite leader responsible for a crew of up to 4 laborers. Be the onsite expert in the completion of construction projects. Handle every day construction tasks independently and call the General Contractor to work through more difficult issues. Oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications. Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including labor hours, materials used, and equipment maintenance. Implement safety protocols and ensure all team members are trained in safe work practices. Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise on-site in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.

Requirements

Proven experience as a construction worker in framing, general construction, or similar role in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Certification in OSHA safety training is preferred but not mandatory. A valid driver's license

Pay: $33.00 - $42.00 per hour
