Job Overview

As a Home Health Aide (HHA), you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in their homes and communities. Your compassionate care and support will empower clients to maintain their independence while receiving the assistance they need. You'll work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide essential services that promote health, comfort, and dignity.

What you'll do

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document vital signs, ensuring any changes are reported to healthcare professionals promptly. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment for their well-being. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical equipment like Hoyer lifts for safe mobility. Maintain cleanliness in the client's living space, including laundry and light housekeeping tasks. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to document patient care accurately and comply with HIPAA regulations. Engage in specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia, ensuring their safety and comfort. Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to create personalized care plans tailored to each client's needs.

Basic qualifications

Proven experience in patient care or caregiving roles, preferably in home health or long-term care settings. Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to home health care. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in catheter care or hospice care is a plus.

Preferred qualifications

Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require memory care support. Knowledge of EHR systems for effective medical documentation and record-keeping. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
