Intensive Clinical Program, Full Time/ 40 Hours/ Team Lead/ LICSW

Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program, is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds \xe2\x80\x93 including post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, family relationship challenges and other issues associated with Military service \xe2\x80\x93 for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class clinical care, wellness, education, and research.

The Massachusetts General Hospital seeks a dynamic and experienced Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to serve as a team lead for the Intensive Clinical Program (ICP) social workers at Home Base, a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition, the ICP Team Lead will also provide clinical and case management services for patients in the ICP.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting directly to the Home Base Director of Social Work, the Intensive Clinical Program (ICP) Team Lead:

  • Works closely with the Director of the ICP.
  • Manages the ICP Social Work team.
  • Co-leads ICP Social Work team meetings.
  • Weighs in on policy or procedural changes to ICP, particularly with regards to Social Work roles.
  • Ensures data entered by ICP Social Work team on internal software system (HBO) is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Liaises with Veteran Outreach team leads regarding both patient care coordination questions and HBO logistics.
  • Assists with other ICP logistics as needed.
  • Responsible for hiring and orientation of new ICP social work staff and interns.
  • Participates in Warrior Care Network calls as needed.
  • Ensures that the ICP social work team is in compliance with the policies and procedures established by Massachusetts General Hospital
  • Provides clinical supervision to LCSWs and/or Social Work students, as needed.
  • Provides individual and/or group therapy within ICP.
  • Provides individual case management services to prospective patients in the admissions process for the ICP and for those currently in care.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications

LICENSES:
  • Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) required.
EDUCATION:
  • Master\'s of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 2-3 years clinical experience required.
  • Experience with EPIC a plus.
  • Experience with Veteran and military family population and knowledge of military culture a plus.
  • Management/supervisory experience preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
  • Ability to manage effectively at the same time working with the other members of the social work team as a peer.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively and complete tasks; Able to juggle daily tasks with needed crisis intervention.
  • Highly motivated, independent and capable of performing in a complex environment; Strong sense of initiative and perseverance to carry through to completion of tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Exceptional computer skills (including operating systems, word processing, database, electronic mail, Internet.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly and to ensure confidentiality guidelines are maintained by staff.
  • Knowledge in aspects of safety applicable to position; Knowledge of and compliance with institutional, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other regulatory bodies\xe2\x80\x99 standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 7.0 FTEs as of December 2023, though may fluctuate with staffing adjustments.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Outpatient clinical setting.
