Responsible for working under the direction of the Manager, HIS Document Integrity Unit to develop, implement and conduct quality review to ensure adherence with all Federal, State, CMS, JCAHO requirements. Summarizes results for development of action plans to improve the integrity of imaged documents.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works with Manager, HIS Document Integrity to establish quality control program for unit, including but not limited to key quality characteristics of the product produced by unit.
  • Works with Manager, HIS Document Integrity to develop methods for correct patient/correct encounter, procedures to avoid red rule violations, etc.
  • Develops methods for monitoring and measuring quality, i.e., sampling, tools, summarization and data analysis.
  • Conducts quality studies as directed. Compiles quality rates for each HIS Document Integrity Technician.
  • Assists in compiling rates and reports for completing employee performance evaluations.
  • Provides education to Document Integrity Team Leaders and staff members.
  • Prepares needed statistical and other reports as required internally and externally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
REQUIRED
  • Graduate from a CAHIIM accredited college/university with a Health Information Management.
  • Must have a RHIT \xe2\x80\x93 Registered Health Information Technician or RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator or must sit for and obtain your RHIT/RHIA within (6) six months of hire date.
  • Two (2) years experience in an acute care hospital medical record or Quality Department in a professional capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in QCI concepts tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/skills in legal and JCAHO requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excel, power point, etc.



PREFERRED


  • Masters Prepared.
  • Three years experience in a professional capacity in an acute care medical record, quality department or document scanning and/or imaging operation.
Work Hours:: 7AM-7PM Weekend Requirements:: No On-Call Requirements:: No
