POSITION SUMMARY

Reports To:



- Director of Health Information Management

Summary:



- Responsible for maintaining patient medical records, prompt and appropriate release of patient information, customer service both in person and on the phone along with additional administrative duties. Must examine and analyze all medical records to ensure they are correct, accurate and complete. Accountable for keeping all patient records confidential.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education



- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
+

Experience



- One to two years related experience
+

Computer Skills



- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
- Experience with electronic health records is a plus. Must exhibit critical thinking skills, effective communication skills and the ability to work with others as a team.

- N/A

Other Requirements



- May take 3 months to become proficient in this position. This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and fingers.


Location: Decatur County Memorial Hospital Health Information Technology

Schedule: FT, Days, 6:30am - 3pm
