Norseland Nursing Home is now hiring for a full-time Health Information Specialist / Nursing Support (duel role).

Health Information Specialist Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and organize patient medical records, including electronic health records (EHRs) Protect patient privacy and security by adhering to HIPAA regulations Code and classify medical diagnoses and procedures for billing and reporting purposes Conduct audits and quality reviews to ensure compliance

Nursing Support Key Responsibilities:

Schedule the nursing staff under the direction of the DON on a bi-weekly rotation. Replace absent staff as needed. Maintain an inventory of nursing and office supplies, order, and stock as needed. Keep track of the durable medical equipment in the facility. Update care cards as needed. Ensure medical storage areas are kept clean and organized. Greet and direct visitors as they enter and exit the facility presenting the foremost impression of the facility.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field Certified Health Information Manager (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and healthcare regulations Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Proficiency in electronic health records and data management systems Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
