Job Family Definition:
Serves as the overall account lead (single point of contact) for large Higher Education institutions across the state of North Carolina, managing relationships across complex, multi-campus environments. Understands the unique challenges of higher education IT -- including secure connectivity, AI-driven operations, and modern campus transformation -- and focuses on delivering measurable value for the customer while driving revenue and margin growth for HPE | Juniper Networks. Specializes in AI-Native Campus and Branch Networking solutions with an emphasis on modernization, cloud integration, and digital experience improvement. Operates within a partner-led model, supported by technical presales and inside sales teams. The position can be based in the Greater Raleigh or Charlotte areas, with travel to key Higher Education sites across the state.
Management Level Definition:
Applies advanced expertise in Higher Education and SLED sales to address complex business and technology challenges. Frequently contributes to the development of new territory strategies and solutions. Leads cross-functional and partner teams, represents the company to senior education and IT leaders, and exercises significant independent judgment in achieving business objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to other sales professionals.
Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes a territory growth plan focused on expanding presence within Higher Education across North Carolina.
  • Uses account planning and consultative selling techniques to identify modernization, AI, and secure access opportunities.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with executive-level IT and procurement leaders across universities and colleges.
  • Leverages and coordinates a network of channel partners to deliver end-to-end networking and security solutions.
  • Ensures disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and effective execution of sales cycles.
  • Aligns solutions to available funding mechanisms and procurement frameworks common in the Higher Education sector.
  • Acts as the primary customer interface, coordinating internal and external resources to deliver optimal outcomes.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8-12 years of enterprise or public sector sales experience, preferably within Higher Education or SLED environments.
  • Proven success managing complex sales cycles and building executive-level relationships.
  • Experience with public procurement processes and partner-led go-to-market models.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Higher Education IT priorities including secure campus networks, Wi-Fi modernization, and AI-driven network management. Advanced partner engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Proven negotiation, closing, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Expertise in managing multi-year, multi-site modernization projects. Excellent communication, strategic planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to translate customer goals into actionable solutions and measurable business outcomes.

Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. USD Annual Salary: $194,500.00 - $456,500.00
