Prepares designs and specifications, assists in generation of layouts
Prepares and checks drawings as required and processes changes
Interfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing of samples
Interfaces with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customer specifications
Communicates with customers, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Purchasing, and experimental personnel
Coordinates the manufacturing of customer prototypes
Performs the functions required to process estimate requests and marketing product requests
Performs engineering investigations of manufacturing/quality problems
Reviews customer documents for compliance with Amphenol documents and, if necessary, prepares new designs to conform to these documents
Keeps supervision informed of status of all activities on a periodic basis
Works closely with the Business Development Manager and Product Managers of various business units

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
1 to 5 years' experience in design or design engineering
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo is preferred but not required
Ability to work from written or oral instructions with minimum supervision
Ability to make design layouts and production drawings
Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Strong written and oral communication
Capable of assuring form, fit, and function components through dimensional studies, correlating engineering data to customer specifications
Possesses a working knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill
Prolonged periods of sitting and typing
Occasional travel
