Job Description


Overview:

The Hebrews Manager oversees all aspects of the Cafe. This person is responsible for all operations, maintenance, staff members, and expansion projects; ensuring proper overall efficiency and profitability.

Objective:

As the Hebrews Manager, they will have a strong business background as well as relational and team building skills, being both strategic and timely. This individual is self-motivated and driven. The manager\'s goal is to adequately equip and lead the Barista Team, oversee all functions of the business, and carry vision for the company and future endeavors. The Hebrews Manager completes hours of administration and leadership, while also working apx 2 shifts in the coffee shop each week to maintain awareness of products, flow, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the entire Barista Team and the Hebrews Assistant Manager.
  • Stewards the entryway and guest experience at Bethel by creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our Cafe.
  • Maintains oversight of all data analysis and sales tracking for management and reporting purposes, along with tracking margins, managing the annual budget, and goal setting.
  • Manages higher level requests and questions from other departments and customers. Acts as customer services and gathers feedback, providing solutions and problem solving.
  • Advises on hiring and firing for the department along with other HR related personnel issues, manages initial timecard approvals, enforces health and safety standards, etc.
  • Manages and approves all expense reports, requisitions, and check requests.
  • Manages and executes all projects and systemic maintenance/upgrades for the business unit.
  • Oversees and executes all expansion opportunities and capital projects. Consistently creates space to ideate and vision cast for future possibilities and endeavors.
  • Acts as a Lead Barista on shift for apx 2 shifts each week. (4-8 hours per shift depending on conference weeks) Also acts as a fill-in barista in case coverage is needed last minute.
  • Responsible for product quality assurance and loss prevention, creating cyclical procedures and systems for the Barista Team to abide by.
  • Assists with managing POS systems, adding items and discounts, etc. while managing IT issues and troubleshooting.
  • Creates the retail plan and seasonal promotions, manages onboarding new items, and marketing/deals, while comparing market pricing and conducting cost analysis.
  • Conducts communication with vendors on product quality, requests, prices, etc. and builds new vendor relationships as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly store room and shop, upholds a cleaning procedure and opening/closing procedures.
  • Improves quality by studying, evaluating, and presenting new processes; helping implement change; maintaining and improving the appearance of the shop and lobby area.
  • Updates job knowledge by reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks and pursues knowledge of trends and market standards.
  • Acts as the point person for repair needs and service calls on equipment to maintain food safety standards of operation, inspections and certifications.
  • Conducts monthly one on one\xe2\x80\x99s with the Barista Team Members, yearly employee reviews, and quarterly Hebrews staff meetings, along with any necessary training, write-ups, or growth plans.
  • Manages mobile ordering app and system, making edits and updates as needed.
  • Manages Social Media Marketing and other marketing/advertising along with company-wide communications concerning hours of operation, events, and promos. (The Hebrews website, Google Business, Local Church Webpage, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, and App.)
  • Maintains Hebrews master costs sheets and inventory list for all our recipes with cost analysis.
  • Designs, sources, and processes orders for seasonal drinkware and merchandise collections.
  • General email correspondence concerning questions and concerns, customer feedback, event coordination, projects, etc.
  • Enhances coffee shop reputation by moving in a spirit of excellence and ownership.
  • Creates team culture by cultivating core values and standards, creating activities and dynamics that support those values, communicating them clearly, and leading by example.
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • High value for providing excellent and friendly customer service
  • Pleasant personality, mature, with strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, self-motivated and strong in time management
  • Strong administrative abilities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Previous experience in cash handling
  • Previous experience as a Barista
  • Previous experience in a managerial role
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Calendar
  • High School diploma; Bachelors in related field
  • BSSM Graduate recommended
