Job Description

Service Manager - Heavy Duty Truck Shop



Department & Operations Management



Set department goals and manage key metrics (labor hours, comebacks, sales per RO, etc.) Maximize revenue and technician efficiency while controlling costs Use forecasting tools and reports (DOCs, efficiency charts, warranty trends) to guide daily operations Oversee repair scheduling and manage parts flow Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety regulations, and hazardous waste procedures Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for staff and customers

Team Leadership



Recruit, train, and coach service writers, techs, and support staff Hold weekly team meetings and provide performance feedback Build a positive, high-accountability culture rooted in teamwork

Customer Experience



Act as the point of escalation for service issues and customer disputes Build long-term customer relationships focused on trust and repeat business Ensure accurate billing, service documentation, and warranty claims Monitor and improve customer satisfaction and CVP survey results

Qualifications



Required:



2+ years as a heavy-duty service manager Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills 4+ Years in a Leadership Role Proven success managing a profitable service operation

Preferred:



Experience as a Service Manager in a heavy duty commercial truck dealership

Work Environment



Work indoors and outdoors around commercial trucks Active role - requires walking, lifting, standing, and moving around service bays throughout the day
