KidShip Sailing Camp at Annapolis Sailing School is hiring Head Sailing Instructors for our youth sailing program in the summer of 2026!

Camp starts June 15th!



We are looking for experienced sailors with powerboating experience to provide daily sailing instruction to our campers. Sailing experience is required. Applicants should have powerboating experience, advanced sailing knowledge, racing experience, spinnaker sailing experience (preferred), and experience on various sailboats.



KidShip Head Instructors lead a group of 4-10 children through their daily activities and on-the-water sailing instruction. Head Instructors will be on a chaseboat during on-the water sailing activities, following closely behind to coach the campers. Applicants should have confidence in operating a powerboat.

Head Instructors may have a Junior Instructor assigned to them to assist with teaching.



Outside of camp hours, KidShip instructors can use sailing school equipment such as dinghies, keelboats, paddle-boards, kayaks, beach-front property, and more. Camp instructors will receive a paid lunch break and all the perks available while working at a beachfront sailing school. (It's really a lot of fun!!)

Responsibilities



Attend mandatory camp training on June 13th and 14th Available between June 15th and August 14th Maintain a

safe

and

fun

environment for campers Monitor campers within your class to ensure safety on the docks, beach, and when sailing Be professional in all job tasks by taking the job seriously, showing up on time, and being ready to work

Qualifications:



Be at least 18 years old Have experience sailing and skippering dinghies Be comfortable rigging, sailing, capsizing, and righting a dinghy Have experience operating a powerboat Have a love for sailing and sharing your passion with others*
Have experience with children Maryland Safe Boater License (required) US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Certification (required; assistance in acquiring certification is available) First Aid and CPR certifications (required; assistance in acquiring certification is available) Lifeguard certifications (preferred, not required)

Schedule:



8-hour shift Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm June 15th - August 14th
Qualified employees will receive a $400 end-of-season work commitment incentive.
