Scope of Job
To provide advanced administrative and supervisory skills in the management and development of the University’s Men’s Golf program.

Responsible for planning, supervision and coordination of all aspects of the Men’s Golf Program.

Description of Duties

  • Administers and manages the Men’s University Golf program.

  • Coordinates all travel arrangements and required documentation for the staff and team members including expense reports.

  • Prepares and manages the budget for Men’s Golf team.

  • Coordinates the scheduling of all golf tournaments for Men’s team.

  • Supervises staff assigned to Men’s Golf program within the Athletics Department.

  • Responsible for preparing and executing recruitment strategies for the University’s Men’s Golf team.

  • Responsible for the supervision of all staff and team members while traveling.

  • Prepares and submits all student athlete scholarship forms for the Golf Program.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution of higher education.

Preferred Education

As condition of employment this position requires the applicant to be authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for Official University Business. Per University of Texas System Policy 157, applicants will be subject to a motor vehicle record check for their most recent thirty-six (36) month history. Out of State Drivers are required to submit a 36-month history MVR from their prior State of residence(s).

Apprentice Professional Golf Association (PGA) card preferred.

Required Experience
  • Three (3) years of coaching experience in either the collegiate, professional or private sector, or

  • two (2) years of experience as a professional player.

Preferred Experience
Golf playing experience either at Professional level or NCAA.

Use of standard office machines including personal computer, fax, MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Both indoor and outdoor environment.

  • Understands and adheres to all policies and procedures of the University, Conference and the NCAA. Assumes complete responsibility to ensure that the student-athletes conduct themselves in an appropriate manner in accordance with NCAA policies.

  • Understands that violation(s) of NCAA rules could result in sanctions being placed against the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University.

  • Attends regularly scheduled compliance meetings to maintain knowledge of current and recently established policies.

  • Have familiarity and knowledge of NCAA Division I rules required as part of job duties.

  • Ability to exhibit integrity with high ethical standards and strict adherence to NCAA, conference, university and departmental rules and regulations as well as solid commitment to academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, ethnic diversity and gender equity.

  • Flexibility to work night and/ or weekends and constant traveling is required.
