The Spencer-Owen Community School Corporation is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Football Coach to work with the students, community and staff supporting Owen Valley High School. Owen Valley High School has an enrollment of approximately 670 students in grades 9 - 12. The school is the only high school in the county and has a rich history of tradition and community support for the program.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Oversee all off-season and winter weight room sessions Interview/hire coaching staff for the high school and middle school programs Evaluate personnel and coaching staff Oversee five paid assistant coaches Assist and guide the Owen Valley Youth Football League Develop daily practice plans and oversee all workouts Work in partnership with athletic boosters and community partners

Qualifications:

If a licensed teacher, include a copy of your teaching license with application Must pass a National Criminal History Check Exhibit a positive and enthusiastic influence on all student-athletes Willingness to build positive relationships with student-athletes and parents Exhibit and demonstrate overall knowledge of the game of football Focus on building a sustainable program and improving the skills of student-athletes Previous varsity coaching experience (Head Coaching or Coordinator experience preferred) Deep understanding of speed and strength development

Program Highlights:

2022 - 2023 Sectional and Western Indiana Conference Champions 2021 - 2022 Sectional and Western Indiana Conference Champions 2022 - 2023 undefeated in regular season 8th grade program completed the 2025 season with a 25 player roster and 8-2 record Owen Valley Youth Leagues featured a team at every level grade K-6 with 30 rostered players per team Advanced PE classes specifically designed for student-athletes offered multiple periods per day. 7th and 8th grade athletes are included. 150 students use the weight room on a daily basis Turf Field with video board. New press box in the spring/summer of 2023 Football has a fully equipped locker room, training room, and film room inside OVHS Facilities
