Camp Cedar is a premier residential boys' summer camp in Maine for ages

7-15

well-rounded experience with a strong emphasis on athletics

. For seven weeks each summer, our campers build skills, confidence, and friendships through sports, adventure, and community.

Position Overview:

Camp Cedar is seeking a passionate, experienced

Head Coach

in

Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, or Lacrosse

to lead our athletic program in one of these core sports. This is a

residential position

, ideal for someone who loves coaching, mentoring youth, and living in a vibrant camp community.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction in your sport for boys ages 7-15. Oversee daily coaching sessions with groups ranging from 25-40 campers, as well as smaller, skill-based clinics. Lead, mentor, and collaborate with assistant coaches and counselors. Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm for learning and competition. Help plan and manage inter-camp games, tournaments, and special events. Participate in the broader camp community through evening programs and special activities.

Schedule:

Work 5-6 days per week, including 2-3 evenings. Participate fully in camp life as a residential staff member.

Qualifications:

Extensive coaching or playing experience in

Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, or Lacrosse

(college or professional background preferred). Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to connect with and motivate campers of varying ages and skill levels. Enthusiasm for working and living in a summer camp community. Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting is a plus.

Pay: $809.08 - $974.38 per week
