Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
Oversee menu planning and development, incorporating current culinary trends and customer preferences
Manage food preparation processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met or exceeded
Supervise food production activities across various departments such as banquet services, catering events, and fine dining outlets
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Oversee inventory management including ordering, stock control, and minimizing waste through effective inventory control practices
Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth operations during all service hours
Monitor kitchen operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality standards
Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
Train new staff members and provide ongoing coaching to develop culinary skills within the team
Ensure excellent food handling practices are followed at all times
Requirements
Proven experience in fine dining establishments with strong banquet or catering background preferred
Supervising experience in a high-volume kitchen environment required
Extensive culinary experience with expertise in food production, food safety, and kitchen management
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Strong background in menu planning, food service management, and inventory control
Knowledge of dietary requirements and food handling regulations
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Hospitality or restaurant management experience is highly desirable
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Culinary certifications or relevant hospitality training preferred
