To provide accounting and bookkeeping services which insure efficient and effective management of financial affairs to the school system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receipt and deposit daily all checks and cash received in the Central Office
Assist other bookkeeping employees with matters related to payroll, insurance, salaries, and benefits.
Assist with preparing, verifying, balancing, and closing out monthly payrolls as needed.
Maintain appropriate ledgers of fund accounts at the Central Office, enter debits and credits, verify computer print-outs, and balance such accounts as required.
Verify monthly travel reports and forms, prepare statement for Accounts Payable for payment.
Prepare local, state, and federal reports as required for reimbursement, indirect costs, and other purposes.
Assist with preparation of annual budget drafts for Board approval.
Use effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member.
Demonstrate support for the school system and its goals and priorities.
Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations.
Report absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports

Technology skillsexperience of considerable variety and complexity. Four years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping practices are required, at least one of which should be comparable in duties and responsibilities to that of a full-charge bookkeeper. Knowledge of local school accounting procedures highly preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Ability to communicate orally, polite and respectful to others. Able to check and proofread documents for accuracy as well as proficiency in technology and computer programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate lifting, stooping and kneeling are required. Extended amounts of time at the computer and keyboard is expected. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works with little supervision, makes timely completion of office projects and adapts to changing priorities. Keeps all Human Resource, Substitute and System related information confidential. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records
