Job Description

SafeRoute Home Services is seeking a reliable, experienced Handyman / Maintenance Technician to support property management unit turns and vacant-unit projects. This is a W-2 on-call position for dependable technicians who take pride in delivering quality work and effective communication. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across different projects.

This role is ideal for someone who can work independently in vacant units, follow scopes, and document work clearly -- while also being a team player when projects require multiple trades.

Responsibilities

Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks around residential or commercial properties Confidently handle: Carpentry & cabinetry repairs, Drywall patching & texture, Interior painting, Minor flooring repairs (LVP, laminate, baseboards). Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Identify required materials and coordinate approved pickups (materials paid by company) Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite Take before/after photos and provide a written summary of completed work Communicate progress, issues, and completion clearly Work independently or alongside team members as needed Follow safety standards and basic building code requirements

This position does not include electrical, HVAC, or plumbing work

Requirements

Prior handyman, maintenance, or construction experience (property management/unit turns strongly preferred) Own tools and equipment required Own reliable vehicle required Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Comfortable working alone in vacant units Dependable, punctual, and professional Able to communicate clearly with office staff and project managers Able to use a smartphone for photos, notes, and job updates

Pay & Logistics

$30/hour (W-2 employee) Travel time is paid after 30 minutes of driving Materials are paid for by the company (we call in orders to our accounts) Flexible, On-Call Schedualing Service area: Arlington to Tacoma, WA

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 - 40.0 per week
