About the Role:

The Handyman role is essential for maintaining, repairing, and improving residential and commercial properties across the State. This position requires a versatile professional capable of performing a wide range of tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical wiring. The successful candidate will ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard, enhancing the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the properties. This role demands strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to address various building and maintenance challenges. Ultimately, the Handyman will contribute to the overall upkeep and value preservation of properties by delivering reliable and quality workmanship on every project.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role. Proficiency in drywall installation and repair. Strong carpentry skills including finish carpentry and cabinetry. Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical wiring. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or training in electrical or plumbing trades. Experience working in commercial building maintenance. Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations. Customer service experience.

Responsibilities:

Perform general carpentry tasks including finish carpentry and cabinetry installation or repair. Install, repair, and finish drywall to ensure smooth and durable surfaces. Conduct painting projects, including surface preparation and application of various paint types. Handle basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, installing fixtures, and maintaining pipes. Perform electrical wiring tasks within safety guidelines, including installing outlets, switches, and lighting. Maintain and improve landscaping areas by mowing, trimming, planting, and general outdoor upkeep. Inspect and troubleshoot building systems to identify maintenance needs and recommend solutions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Communicate effectively with clients and team members to understand project requirements and provide updates.
